But that 24-70mm f2.8L.... If I could drool on like a digital level, it's that. Everyone says it's all about the glass, and to some extent, I knew that to be true. I'm a little obsessive though, so whatever - glass doesn't ever change that much, but on the body side, we get steady releases and updates to spec sheets. That's got to count for something, right?
I got to use Canon's 24-70 2.8L to shoot a recent wedding and I don't know how else to say that it was phenomenal. On the 7D's APSC crop sensor it really operates with an effective focal range of 35-112mm which I found to be a fantastic range for the wedding. It focuses silently, and almost quick enough that I don't realize it's happening with very little hunting except in the most low-light of situations. I realize everyone at this point has fallen asleep because that lens came out almost an eternity ago and has been widely known as one of Canon's sharpest lenses.
Now I understand. Take all of my money, Canon.
